UMBC Forward Brandon Horvath Follows Ryan Odom To Logan, Commits To Aggies

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former UMBC forward Brandon Horvath announced that he would follow his head coach Ryan Odom and join the Utah State men’s basketball program.

Former UMBC and new Utah State head coach, Ryan Odom was hired as the Aggies’ next men’s basketball coach on April 5.

Horvath posted about his commitment to USU on Thursday, April 15.

“The next chapter…” the former UMBC Receivers standout tweeted.

About Brandon Horvath

Horvath is a senior forward that measures at 6-10 and 210 lbs.

He is a native of West River, Maryland.

Horvath was a standout player at UMBC and had played for the Retrievers since the 2017-18 season.

Last season, the forward had a career year and averaged 13.1 points per contest.

Horvath and Odom helped UMBC to a 14-6 record in the 2020-21 campaign.

During his four seasons on the court with UMBC, Horvath averaged 8.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 23.3 minutes per game.
