SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – An NFL coach said that former Desert Hills and Oregon Ducks star Penei Sewell is the “one player” from the 2021 NFL Draft that has the “best chance to go to the Hall of Fame.”

The anonymous coach praised Sewell during a conversation with NBC Sports’ Peter King, who wrote about the comments in his weekly article, “Peter King’s Football Morning in America.”

“If I could pick one player in this draft who’s got the best chance to go to the Hall of Fame, it’s Penei Sewell,” the NFL coach told King. “He’s my left tackle from day one.”

Following a standout career at Desert Hills High School, Sewell played college football for the Oregon Ducks.

He won the 2019 Outland Trophy as the best interior lineman in college football.

Sewell opted out of the 2020 college football season, which was played in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sewell is currently projected a one of the top pick’s in April’s draft.

Most national mock drafts have Sewell going inside the top ten picks.

Sewell highest landing spot in the latest roundup of mock drafts was to the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 4 overall pick. ESPN’s Todd McShay has Sewell falling to the No. 13 selection by the Los Angeles Chargers.
