SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2003 Masters Champion and former BYU Golf alum Mike Weir has missed the cut at the 2021 Masters after shooting five over through the first two rounds at Augusta National.

Weir, 50, began his Friday round at six-over-par and was only able to pick up one stroke during his second round.

His day began with a bogey on the first hole. He then birdied the third and the eighth to bring him back into red figures. However, back-to-back bogeys on nine and ten pushed him back to positive figures.

Weir ended his 2021 Masters campaign with two closing birdies down the stretch on 13 and 18.

He will miss the cut by an estimated two shots.

It is the 10th time in Weir’s career that he has missed the cut at The Masters. Weir made the cut last November at Augusta but had previously not made the cut since 2014.

Currently, Weir plays on the PGA Champions Tour. He is ranked 15th on the current money list having played 12 events this season earning him $715,406 to date in 2021.
